EASTON, MD — Rivers & Roads Consulting has hired Romina Burnette as Program Coordinator to support the continued growth of Introduction to Careers in Healthcare (ITCH), a nonprofit that connects youth with career pathways and hands-on learning opportunities in healthcare across Maryland’s Mid-Shore region.
Burnette will be a member of the Rivers & Roads team and will work directly with ITCH to help coordinate programs, support regional partnerships, and strengthen the systems behind the organization’s healthcare career exploration work. As Rivers & Roads continues to grow its work with mission-driven organizations across the region, her background in operations, systems, human resources, and organizational change also positions her to support the firm’s broader nonprofit and workforce development practice.
ITCH introduces students to healthcare careers through Career Clubs, mentoring, shadowing, career and resource fairs, classroom presentations, and partnerships with schools and healthcare organizations. The program is designed to strengthen the region’s pipeline of future healthcare professionals by helping students see, understand, and pursue opportunities in the field.

As ITCH has grown, its work has expanded beyond individual programs and events into a broader regional workforce initiative. That growth requires stronger systems, clearer communication, deeper partner coordination, and long-term capacity. Rivers & Roads works alongside ITCH leadership to help build that foundation, ensuring the organization can manage growth while staying focused on its core purpose: connecting students with real opportunities in healthcare.
In her role, Burnette will help manage program logistics, coordinate with schools and partners, support events, track participation and outcomes, and serve as a point of coordination for students, educators, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community partners.
Burnette brings experience in human resources, compliance, workforce systems, program coordination, and organizational operations. She has led change management and M&A integration efforts for previous employers, including work supporting multi-location workforce transitions, employee communications, operational rollout, and systems implementation. She holds an MBA and a Master of Arts in Human Resources Management from Marymount University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Virginia. She is also bilingual in English and Spanish.
Her addition marks an important step in strengthening ITCH’s capacity while adding depth to Rivers & Roads’ growing work in nonprofit strategy, workforce development, and organizational implementation.
